The Danish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Mission & Vision

The goal of the Danish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (DSBMB) is to create contacts between researchers and stimulate interest for biochemistry and biotechnology in Denmark.

Key Activities

  • Scientific Symposia: DSBMB members are invited to 6–8 symposia every year in Copenhagen, Odense or Aarhus covering topics at the cutting edge in molecular biology, biotechnology, functional genomics, pharmacology and systems biology.
  • BioZoom Magazine: BioZoom is a quarterly journal published since 1997 for DSBMB members with articles and debate on research policy, biotech industry, science history, ethics, education, European science and university reform.
  •  Annual Meeting: For more than 30 years DSBMB members have gathered at the annual meeting in October to meet active scientists and form networks with colleagues from universities, research institutions and industry.

Danish Life Sciences Forum
DSBMB and other non-profit societies have founded Danish Life Sciences Forum (DLSF) to create a coalition representing basic biomedical research scientists. DLSF advocates for increased public funding of research to allow continued progress in science.

History

DSBMB became a member of FEBS in 1964.

Membership

DSBMB has approximately 27 members (2023), and accepts non-resident scientists as members.
