FEBS and IUBMB to fund the ENABLE conference series from 2022 to 2025
The international ENABLE conferences are organized by PhD students and postdoctoral researchers for their peers and have ran from 2017 to provide interdisciplinary scientific exchange in biomedical research as well as career development and outreach sessions.
The events were initially funded by the European Commission's Horizon2020 programme and jointly organized and hosted in turn by the four core biomedical research institutes that led the project: the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) in Barcelona, Spain; the Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences (RIMLS) in Nijmegen, The Netherlands; the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR) in Copenhagen, Denmark; and the Scuola Europea di Medicina Molecolare (SEMM), in Milan, Italy.
FEBS and the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) previously sponsored travel grants for the event but have now joined forces to provide the funding for organization of further annual events from 2022 to 2025.
Now other academic institutions with a strong research background in molecular life sciences are invited to become associated institutions and host one of the upcoming events, in collaboration with the four core institutions. Events will be held in Europe, except for the 2024 conference, which will be hosted by an institution outside Europe.
FEBS is delighted to sponsor jointly with IUBMB the organization of these events to extend its support for the careers of young researchers – both those attending the events and those organizing them.
