Changes in FEBS programmes due to the coronavirus pandemic
Updated 2 April 2020:
FEBS has been considering carefully the developing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and how to adjust its programmes in response, particularly to reduce public health risks.
FEBS events. FEBS is supporting postponement of eight events in the FEBS Advanced Courses program that were scheduled to run in April, May and June 2020. The organizers of the postponed FEBS Advanced Courses will be in touch with registered participants as soon as possible, and websites will be updated to new dates in due course. In addition, some education events in the same period have been cancelled or postponed. The 45th FEBS Congress (and the preceding 20th FEBS Young Scientists’ Forum) planned for July 2020 are now postponed to 2021; find more details in the latest news post here.
FEBS Fellowships. The FEBS Fellowships office is ready to consider impacts such as travel restrictions and lab closures affecting the timing of awarded Fellowships on a case by case basis. In addition, the deadline for FEBS Summer Fellowships has been extended, and postponement of awarded FEBS Summer Fellowships to later in the year will be permitted.
At this time, we also let you know that the FEBS Press journals, the FEBS office and FEBS Committees are able to continue near-normal functions, utilising remote working arrangements and virtual meetings where needed.
