Call for host institutes for FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE Conferences in 2023 and 2024
FEBS, the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) and the research institutes of ENABLE are now inviting applications from academic institutions to host the FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE 2023 Conference in November 2023 and the 2024 Conference in November 2024. FEBS and IUBMB will fund the event up to a sum of €65,000 as well as provide some additional funds to cover the cost of planning meetings before the event .
We are looking for academic institutions (universities or research institutions) with a strong research background in in molecular life sciences and an active PhD community. The event will be organized by PhD and postdoctoral students, so it is a unique opportunity to immerse young researchers in organizational and project management skills, allowing them to gain valuable experience.
Previous ENABLE events were jointly organized and hosted in turn by the four biomedical research institutes that led the ENABLE project 2017–2021: the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) in Barcelona, Spain; the Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences (RIMLS) in Nijmegen, The Netherlands; the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR) in Copenhagen, Denmark; and the Scuola Europea di Medicina Molecolare (SEMM), in Milan, Italy. The FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE 2022 Conference will be hosted by the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville (IBiS), in Spain.
Please note the different locations and application deadlines for host institutes for the 2023 and 2024 events:
• The 2023 event will be held in a country with a FEBS Constituent Society; apply by 31 January 2022
• The 2024 event is open to any country with an IUBMB Adhering or Associate Adhering Body, except those allowed in 2023; apply by 31 March 2022
