FEBS Young Scientists’ Forum 2017: apply now
The 17th FEBS Young Scientists' Forum (YSF) will take place in Jerualem, Israel, from 7th to 10th September 2017.
This satellite meeting of the 42nd FEBS Congress will bring together around 100 talented postdocs and PhD students from across the FEBS area who are working in the molecular and cellular biosciences. The gathering – organized by young scientists for young scientists – enables participants to present their scientific results, discuss ideas and get to know each other in a friendly international atmosphere, before moving on to the larger Congress. In addition to presentations from the participants, there will be keynote lecturers at the YSF from Naama Barkai from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel (biological circuits), Nicolas Plachta (EMBO Young Investigator Lecturer) from the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR, Singapore (cell fate in mouse embryos), Güneş Özhan from the İzmir International Biomedicine and Genome Institute, İzmir, Turkey (Wnt/β-catenin signaling), and Eric Westhof from the University of Strasbourg, France (structure- and energy-based view of the genetic code). The YSF will also have a session devoted to advice and information on career-related issues, and a social program will help participants get to know each other as well as Jerusalem.
FEBS will financially support participation of successful YSF applicants in both the YSF and the ensuing FEBS Congress, via YSF grants.
Full details of the eligibility criteria and the link to apply are on the Congress website. Applicants must submit an abstract to the YSF and Congress as first author.
YSF applications must be made through the Congress registration system, selecting the YSF Applicant option, by 24th March 2017.
